Win the author!

OK, so the Dragon Defenders - Book Five: The Grand Opening is out on August 19 and I thought we'd have some fun!

One of my favourite things to do is visit primary schools and talk to kids, so I thought we'd combine that with the launch of the new book. For this little competition the winner will have me visit their school and talk to the children, and I'll bring along two full sets of all 8 Dragon Bros Books!

Here's what I'd like you to do. If you purchase The Dragon Defenders 5 (or even borrow it from the library), here's what you do next:

1). Take a photo of it.

2). Upload it to Facebook or Instagram (ask your Mum or Dad to use their account first!) and use the hashtag #TheDragonDefenders. Also say what school you'd like me to visit, or just tag in the school!

3). Make sure you tag me in. Here's my handles:

We'll keep this running until the end of term 2, and then I'll randomly select a winner! The winner will have me visit your school, and also I'll bring along a full set of books for the school library.

There are a few things we have to get straight, though (otherwise known as 'terms and conditions').

1). Your post has to have your Mum or Dad's or carer's permission.

2). Your school has to agree to the visit! I'll contact the school to see if they're up for it.

3). The school has to be in New Zealand - anywhere in New Zealand.

4). Competition closes at the end of term 3.

5). COVID-19 might yet play a part in dictating when this could happen, but we'll have a whole term (term 4) to achieve it. Otherwise, if worst comes to worst, we can connect via Zoom!

"The plot is thrilling, the setting at once idyllic and dangerous. Readers will be inspired to leave their devices and see what they can see from the top of a tree, to go outside, look for dragons, and have adventures as breathtaking as Paddy, Flynn and Briar."

Adele Broadbent

"Part 3 in this heart-pounding adventure is sure to please Dragon Defenders fans. An Unfamiliar Place pounds the young brothers with new challenges, but with their feathered accomplice (Lightning the falcon) along for the ride, they battle through and never give up! The story stands on its own but the digital side of this great Kiwi series is a wonderful bonus. Loved it!"
